The award-winning conclusion to The Lightning in the Collied Night and The Loss of What Is Past: In 22nd-century Aotearoa (New Zealand), Earth struggles to recover from the World War of 2057 while the world's chief physicist and her husband grapple with an immeasurable loss. When a seemingly unstoppable threat to Earth emerges, the Māori scientists must overcome their grief and decide whether to violate the most sacred values and beliefs of their people in a desperate attempt to prevent Armageddon.
Although this novel is the conclusion to a trilogy, it was written to stand alone and thus can be read independently of the other two books.
The five main characters and some secondary characters are Māori, the indigenous people of New Zealand-very rare for a sci-fi novel. This novel explores the culture, religion, and language of the Māori in a futuristic sci-fi setting.

About the Author
most of his life in the Twin Cities. However, he is also officially
(by order of the governor of Texas) a naturalized Texas citizen, y'all.
Waves Toward the Pebbled Shore explores once more the universe Dave
created in his debut novel, The Lightning in the Collied Night, which is
in its 2nd Edition, and expanded on in its sequel, The Loss of What Is
Past.
Dave retired in 2023 from a 44-year career in information technology
that focused on enterprise software architecture, design, and
development. He wrote a lot during his career, including co-authoring
a couple of books, but he didn't write fiction ... at least he didn't
intentionally write fiction. In addition to writing, Dave enjoys volunteering
and spending time with his wife Joanna and their three children.
His main hobby is searching for a parallel universe in which the
Minnesota Vikings have won a Super Bowl, or even played in a Super
Bowl in the past half-century.
Dave is a life-long sci-fi fan. He earned a bachelor's degree in
Mathematics (most of which he forgot a long time ago) and an MBA
in Information Management. He holds certifications in several IT-related
subjects including all the major cloud providers, which helps
him keep his head in the clouds while writing.

Store description
We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
