Reviews
Golfers are always on the lookout for that extra special pointer that will give their game a boost: Darden and Richardson offer dozens to choose from here. More than 40 top golfers (like Paul Azinger, Bernard Langer, Betsy King, Larry Mize and Rick Fehr) have all contributed short chapters that reveal the secret of their success on and off the links. The unusual thread, however, the thing that makes this something other than the usual sports biography, is the book's spirituality. After a short introduction that includes the player's credentials, each golfer writes a first-person account of his spiritual journey and follows it with the account of a memorable moment. Each "moment" is a golf story and involves some behind-the-scenes look at professional golfing. Finally, each golfer gives a tip that amateurs will enjoy and can immediately incorporate into their own games. While formulaic, the book will please those interested in the game and its big-name stars. Photos and illustrations not seen by PW.
