The Way Out

For years and years, I wasn't able to sleep for more than a couple of hours. You get used to it, but that's not necessarily a good thing. When you suffer from insomnia, everything becomes the same, like it's groundhog day, every day. Get up, go to work, come home, consume microwave dinners while re-watching a selection from my personal movie collection, and try to get a few hours sleep before work the next day. Seems normal enough, but, the funny thing is, I have no memory of applying for or even accepting my job. When did I do that..? I guess it doesn't matter - I do telephone technical support for a computer company. And then, all of a sudden, he showed up. John. Well... JOHN DOE, according to the 'business card' he gave me. After that, everything changed, and I do mean everything. My entire life was turned upside down, and I do mean that quite literally.

Down under, I met a beautiful, sugar pink-haired guitarist and her brilliant, blue pet. An ebony-haired, Indian goddess painting images of other worlds, who managed to paint a portrait of me before she'd ever seen what I looked like with her own two eyes. A century-old psychologist who believed that I could be made whole again. A Japanese assassin who turned his back on family tradition in order to lead a truly noble life. A selfless and courageous husband and wife, and their lovely daughter, who turned down the opportunity to be King, Queen, and Princess, respectively. What was it that they could possibly have seen in a guy like me? If there's one thing I've learned on this journey touching on all manner of life's many aspects; family, philosophy, psychology, economics, religion, music, romance, fashion, technology, politics, and even agriculture; is that when a woman chooses you as her mate, whether for a night or for life, there's practically no stopping her from getting what she wants - not that I ever wanted to stop her. The attraction of a female is the most powerful force in the universe. After having found the way out, I will find the way back. There's always another way. I'll do whatever it takes to get back to her. Anyone who stands between me and my love will be struck down, not by my hand, but by Death from the shadows, and there's nothing that you, or I, for that matter, can do to put a stop to it. Nothing can stop what's coming...
