About the Author

Karen Latimer began a career in textbook publishing in New York and San Francisco after receiving a B.A. in English. Interested in early childhood education, she taught at the Waldorf School of the Peninsula, Los Altos, CA for twenty years. Following retirement, Latimer helped teach literacy skills to children and adolescents in the Project READ literacy program at Redwood City Public Library. She also has taught adults at the Bay Area Waldorf Teacher Training Program in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Pamela Fenner taught science in two schools in MA following her graduation from Harvard University with a M.A.T. degree. Following a move to the Bay Area, she served on the Curriculum Advisory Group for her local school district and worked with a reading specialist in the K-3 Early Childhood Education (ECE) program. After certification as a Waldorf teacher, Fenner worked at two schools, helped found a school in Maine, and became a publisher specializing in education and parenting titles. She has been project editor for the following titles: 'Books for the Journey: A Guide to the World of Reading' (with Greer and Wulsin); 'Beyond the Rainbow Bridge: Nurturing our children from birth to seven' (Patterson and Bradley); 'Waldorf Education: A Family Guide' and 'Waldorf Student Reading List'.
