About the Author: Chad M. Orton is an archivist in the LDS Church History Department. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have seven children and live in Provo, Utah. William W. Slaughter is a photo historian and archivist for the LDS Church History Department. He and his wife, Sheri, live in Salt Lake City, Utah. Slaughter is teh author of several books, including Prophets of the Latter Days (with Richard Holzafel), and he and Orton co-authored Joseph Smith's America: His Life and Times.
