The Weather of Our Names

Cal Freeman's new poetry collection reveals universal sensitivity and beauty in its lines. Readers will encounter numerous stunning and memorable passages throughout these pieces. These verses nourish both the mind and soul by guiding us through the American working-class experience, into vibrant ethnic neighborhoods filled with diverse languages, and into the significant Detroit places in the poet's life. This collection promises to take you on a transformative journey that fills you with a new understanding of what it means to be an American. Cal Freeman embodies the spirit of a Midwest poet. He understands the realistic sparseness of urban life, the significance of diversity, and the lessons learned from the well-lived life of his cherished father. Freeman is both a poet for the people and a poet's poet.
