Web-Enabled Systems Integration

The advances of the WWW have dramatically increased the need for efficient and flexible mechanisms to provide integration methods for multiple information sources, which has caused a need for a careful integration of the concepts and systems. It is of great importance for issues and concerns to be identified and handled, in order to ensure the continuous building of systems for ever-changing technology and business requirements. Web-Enabled Systems Integration: Practices and Challenges consists of a collection of quality research papers that describe original ideas and insights associated with the task of integration.

Ajantha Dahanayake is an assistant professor at Delft University of Technology and an associate professor at Open University in The Netherlands. She gives lectures on information systems engineering-related topics and is the program chair of the information systems and software systems distance education program at the Open University.

Waltraud Gerhardt worked as examinator of patents at Patent Office in Berlin, as scientist at School of Economy in Berlin, later as scientist and assistant professor at the University of Rostock, Department of Computer Science. From 1992 until 2000 she was a professor for Database Systems at Delft University of Technology. In 2000, she founded DELOBIS, a research and development oriented software company.
