Almost like new. Second edition of the Webster's unabridged dictionary published by the G & C Merriam Company in 1945, printed in 1949, bound in very attractive dark brown leather with bright gold lettering, gorgeous marbled endpapers, printed on thin "India" paper so the book is only 3 1/2" thick rather than the usual 6 inches, 3210pp; laid in pamphlet that originally came with the dictionary "The Merriam-Webster What it will do for you" 16pp and a newspaper clipping from 1965 about this dictionary and some tips for using it. CONDITION: Almost like new. Cover has very slight loss of color on outer edges and lower edges else like new, "Flag" pages have very minor dampstain (barely noticeble) on outer edges, most pages have very slight rippling along the upper edge, page 1281 has lived its life very slightly creased so its lower edge sticks out about 1/16" and is a little worn, all thumb tab labels are present, clean, no marks or writing.
