Second edition of the unabridged Webster's dictionary published by the C&G Merriam Co in 1950, print date 1951, standard heavy duty yellowish tan cloth cover with two leather title bands on spine one brown and one black, gold lettering on spine and front cover, marbled page edges, plain brown endpapers, standard (not thin) paper, 3214pp. CONDITION: Rather nice condition but rated only "good" because page 577 has been neatly torn out but is laid in. Exterior has slight wear and is lightly soiled by use, title bands on spine are quite worn but lettering is legible, a few pages starting with the Webster biography are quite wrinkled. hardcover. Condition: Used, very good. This is the very desirable second edition published by the G&C Merriam Company, 1950 version, 1950 printing, olive green cloth cover with gold lettering on spine and front cover, India paper, 3210 pages. CONDITION: Cover is clean, gold lettering bright, cloth cover slightly worn through on tips of corners, no thumbtab labels are missing, binding is tight, no marks or writing, bookplate inside the front cover, no large creases on any pages which is unusual in Websters with India paper because the paper is so thin the pages at the start of the book tend to get creased. hardcover. Condition: Used, very good. This is the very desirable second edition published by the G&C Merriam Company, 1950 version, 1950 printing, heavy duty tan cloth cover with two leather title bands one black and one brown, standard paper (not very thin "India" paper, gold lettering, marbled design on page edges, 3214 pages, almost 6" thick. CONDITION:This massive book has stood up well to years of use and has only a few minor wear-related imperfections, a sound binding, and no marks or writing. The cloth cover has overall light surface wear and is very slightly soiled by use but is not worn through and has no fraying; the upper title band is a little worn mainly on the edges, the outer inch of the edges of the lower title band are worn away but almost all of the gold lettering is present; thumb tabs are all present; a few pages have been slightly creased, causing one edge to stick out 1/16" or so beyond the other pages and get a little worn. No pages are torn or missing. Nice, strong, very serviceable.
