Good condition, former library copy, clearly marked as such. The dust jacket is present and is protected by the library's Mylar wrap, which remains intact; the jacket beneath shows some creasing and light wear. A library call number label reading 25E3 / 33C5 LIB is affixed to the back cover, along with a later used-bookseller price sticker. Some light surface scuffing is visible on the back cover. Interior pages are clean and bright with no writing or highlighting noted. The binding is intact and secure. A solid copy that still has the jacket many surviving library copies have lost.

Two lullabies accompany each day of the week in this brightly illustrated book. The poems vary in tone and topic and are randomly assigned to particular days. Margaret Hillert's "A Christmas Lullaby" appears for Monday bidding children to "Sleep like the animals sleepily curled/ In soft little nests in a winter white world." N. M. Bodecker's "Bedtime Mumble" offers bedtime fun for Friday: "A cherry pip,/ a turnip tip,/ A snippet in the snow,/ a snail, a rail,/ a lobster tail,/ the guppy has no toe." Poems by Tennyson, Nikki Giovanni, Karla Kuskin, Gwendolyn Brooks, Margaret Wise Brown and Elizabeth Coatsworth are printed on a white page, in stark contrast to the cheerful paintings opposite. With bold colors on a flat canvas, the borders of Russo's pictures are filled with flowers, animals and homey quilt squaresperfect for a nighttime snuggle. Ages 4-up.

Store description
For 15 years I've been an Oregon CPA, and for 10 of those I taught tax and accounting at the college level. But my proudest work has nothing to do with numbers: I homeschooled my daughter from preschool through freshman year and in September she will be starting the 10th grade - homeschooling. This season taught me a good book can shape how a child sees the world. Every title I choose has to engage young minds to think critically and navigate this world with real understanding. Every book has a story — but it only means something when a child lives it. Why Papa Duck? I was "Uncle Duck" to my nieces and nephews for years — duck pictures fill my office, Mallards are my favorite. When my grandson arrived last year, the family asked what he'd call me. There was only one answer. CPA by training, teacher by calling, homeschool dad by experience, Papa Duck by love.…
