Grade 4-6 Bradford, a mischievous ten-year-old ghost who lives at Jeffrey Clark's house, follows Jeffrey to class on the first day of school and causes all sorts of problems for the boy. The dissatisfied school officials threaten to call his parents if he does not stop his "magic tricks." Their attitudes change when Jeffrey's teacher, "Dragon Lady," assigns the class a written report on the town's local history. Bradford encourages Jeffrey and his friend, Laura, to write a report about the first schoolhouse, from which they recover a 200-year-old bench. Children will be amused by the incidents with Bradford and will love the suspense and adventure in recovering the schoolhouse relic.
