Welcome To My Home The Short Grass Prairie

Ms. Downing wrote "Welcome To My Home - The Shortgrass Prairie" to inspire young learners to use their senses and try to move like the animals they are learning about who live on the Shortgrass Prairie.

We all know how restless young children can become in the classroom. With this book teachers don't have to struggle to keep their students engaged. This book entertains and motivates young students to listen, move, and learn about the plants and animals who live together on the short grass prairie in North America.

As an ecologist and a mother, Marla Downing wanted to write a story that would introduce children to the interrelationships of the plants and animals in the world around them, but although factual, withoutbeing all about the facts.

The illustrations by Alex Chepelev in this book are so beautiful they could easily adorn a room as wall art.
