About the Author - Roy Mankovitz His academic background includes a degree in engineering science from Columbia University, as well as a doctorate in law. As a NASA Advanced Technical Studies group member, he has authored several publications in the field of rocket science. He is a named inventor in more than sixty patents, several of which are in the field of health. As an intellectual property attorney, he has been instrumental in the success of a diverse group of companies. He is on the advisory board of organizations active in the field of health, and the benefactor of university research projects in the wellness area. Research into health and the prevention of illness has been his passion for two decades, and he holds certifications in nutrition and alternative health. This book is an easy to read summary of this research, where he uses common sense to challenge many of the cherished assumptions in these fields, demonstrating that being healthy is not rocket science! He lives in Montecito, California, with his wife Kathleen and their two Tonkinese cats that, incidentally, have been tenth-generation bred in accordance with the fundamental precepts of this book.
