Wellspring Simple: pocket essays

Wellspring Simple is a collection of short essays in a pocket-size book by Deb Grant. Grant offers personal, witty, profound, relatable stories and observations about simple aspects of life. Divided into two major sections, the book's Wellspring essays are focused on topics from Grant's life events and reflections. The Simple essays lift up basic gifts of living that enhance and inform our human journey. These essays extend an invitation to the reader to move beyond the author's words to consider their own experiences or to share them in a small group setting. Grant's purpose in writing this collection of essays is to spark personal reflection, enhance personal gratitude for those often overlooked aspects of our lives, provide a journaling outlet and a conversation starter with groups of family, friends, or co-workers. Readers are encouraged to take notes on their own thoughts, engage in conversations, use an essay to begin a family gathering or group meeting.

Grant's essays are described as humorous, honest, thought-provoking, vulnerable, hopeful, and inspiring. Surprisingly simple on the surface, the writing glistens with more gems of wisdom and challenges for the living of these days. By sharing moments of learning, weakness, and wonder, Grant primes the reader's own well of life events so that each person can renew the view of their journey with a perspective of curiosity and gratitude.
