The Welsh Springer Spaniel (World of Dogs S.)

The Kennel Club identifies the Welsh Springer Spaniel as a very ancient and distinct breed of pure origin
Certainly, spaniels in some shape or form have been around for many centuries, and there are records of red and white spaniels in Wales as early as the sixth century. In this substantial breed book, author Anne Walton traces through the history of this beautiful breed and brings the reader up-to-date with the Springer today, as a pet, in the showring and as a working gundog. She also gives the benefit of her many years experience in the breed, in such areas as selection, grooming, showing and judging. Each of these chapters are illustrated with photographs by Robert Smith, detailing practical step-by-step instructions for each activity. There is also a chapter on the working spaniel, plus contributions from specialists such as Mike Dale, Geoff Skerritt and Mike Stockman.
