Delve into the uproarious world of farm life with "What the Farm," a debut memoir that blends humor and heart. When Mary Conway Sullivan's husband's dream of owning a farm in mid-Ohio becomes reality, chaos and charm collide across 250 acres.
In candid essays, Sullivan recounts her transition from suburban life to the challenges of a sprawling horse farm. From unexpected encounters with swaggering Amish neighbors to her unconventional visit to a tattoo convention in an abandoned prison ("Ink at the Clink"), her tales span the emotional spectrum.
Topics like "Amish Guys Got Swagger" showcase Sullivan's ability to find beauty in the mundane and humor in chaos. "What the Farm" offers relatable, touching, and occasionally profane stories that capture farm life's essence while delivering universal truths that hit home.
Reading "What the Farm" gives intimate conversations over coffee or wine, sharing laughter, tears, and disbelief. Mary's empathetic voice immerses you in life's crazy, tough, and jaw-dropping moments.
