A very attractive copy of this increasingly rare and important historical account of the Kent State Massacre. This copy has a little shelfwear and slight soiling, which is really only visible due to the bright yellow cover, but is soundly bound with no internal markings. An excellent copy.

Here is the candid... brutal... and brave story of the National Guard in action at Hough, Akron, Kent State, and other areas hit by civil disorder. You'll gain a new sense of respect for these men who have stood courageously against indignities and danger.
In these pages you'll get the entire story... the emotion... the obscenities... the panic... the fear... as told by two men who were there.
Edward Grant . A native of Canton, Ohio, Grant attained the rank of Sgt. E-5 in the Ohio National Guard. Being an avid archer, hunter, and fisherman, he has competed in national archery competitions and has hunted and fished all over the country. Grant is part-owner of Residential/Commercial Cleaning Co. in Canton.
Michael Hill . Born and raised in Canton, Ohio, Hill joined the Ohio National Guard after graduation from high school. Bowling, archery, and fishing, as well as raising two daughters, occupies his spare time. Hill is a member of the Canton Board of Realtors and is presently employed as a Real Estate Councilor for Cutler Gallery of Homes.
They tell their story as it happened....
"A demonstrator crept up on us at a blind point, with a long pipe and bent down. He wound up as if a batter on a baseball team and swung at a guardsman's legs. Just as he swung, I yelled but it was too late. He connected and the guardsman went down. I smashed him with the butt of my rifle, but then had to assume my position quickly, for the attack was not letting up...."
