What is Smell?

From the sweet smell of cookies baking to the stinky smell of a skunk's spray, our sense of smell helps us learn about the world around us. This inviting title explains how the nose senses odors, how our sense of smell is related to our sense of taste, and how some animals use their sense of smell.

K-Gr 4–These books go beyond the basics of showing how children's senses enable them to experience the world. Large-print texts include enough information for primary-grade research. Each book has a clear diagram and fairly complete explanation of the organ that allows humans to use the sense and ways to protect it from injury. Readers learn about blindness, deafness, and anosmia. The author also compares senses in humans to those in animals. Full-color photos appear on every spread.
