Angels? They prefer the title of Jesters. Although it appeared to them there kingdom was perfect, their once proud leader known as The Light Bringer, second only to Lord Deus, God of all creation, had betrayed them. No one felt this pain of treason more other than The Jester Dante Ibarra. Whenever he gazes into the mirror, he sees the smile cut into his face, but with no memory of whom it was that did it. With this smile comes a terrible curse. For anyone bearing the cursed Chelsea Grin will be subjected to the pain of others by tenfold. But in this curse, Dante is also able to find a blessing within a nanites technology given to him by The Jester Erzabet, known as the Deus Ex Machina; God Within The Machine. A sense of vengeance, but no leads; all the power in the universe, but no way to use it. A tale of betrayal, love, and a vendetta that will leave you grinning from ear to ear.

Colton D. Epperson was born in the town of Modesto California. He had moved from town to town due to economic issues in the housing market and financial problems crossed with family issues; though he has never really had any problems getting along with his kin. During his sophomore year of high school, he began to see an Angel with Black Wings and a bleeding smile. At first he was under the impression that this was his guardian angel, but soon learned it was nothing more than a reflection of himself. When he turned eighteen and started to attend college, he began to write the story of the character who would eventually be known as The Jester Crow. After his first semester, financial issues caused him to drop out of college and pursue a career in the US Army as a Cryptologic Linguist. When he graduated basic training and attended the Defense Language Institute for Korean, his writing hiatus came to an end, and his first novel When Chelsea Smiled was finally completed within his first month of DLI.
