When I'm Feeling Angry (A Touch and Feel Book)

Have you ever been so angry that you felt like you could explode? Does being teased or wrongly blamed for something make you want to stomp and run and kick and scream? The little rabbit knows how it feels to be angry and just what to do to feel better. Read along, and you too might find that a big, deep breath is all you need to make the anger go away.

Young children know what it is to feel angry and scared, but they don't always know what to do with those feelings. Moroney offers some help in two entries in the When I'm Feeling series. In Angry, a winsome bunny explains what makes him angry and what it feels like to be furious: a boiling hot volcano in his tummy is set to explode; he wants to kick, scream, and stomp! Children learn it's OK to feel angry if the anger doesn't hurt anyone else and are given tips on how to control their anger. Called a "touch and feel book" this title features slightly raised images that add dimension to the darling illustrations. A few questions to "think about" enhance the book's already considerable usefulness. Other titles in the series address happiness and sadness and feeling scared. Naomi Caldwell
