When I Grow Up

Each one of us has a star inside of us. We must find that star and let the star shine for the world to see.

In today's story, we learn about not giving up. Lil' Swoop faces many challenges when trying to figure out what he wants to be when he grows up. He learns that in life there will be challenges, but you must keep working through them and never give up. We also learn that to get better at something, we must practice. Always work hard and be the best that you can be.

The essence of what Dwayne "Swoop" Simpson has brought to the game of basketball has been rooted in his personality, his passion, and his ability to entertain people of all ages. With talent, respect, and a great sense of humor, he has been able to bridge generational and cultural gaps around the world.Hailing from New Brunswick, New Jersey, Swoop excelled on the basketball court during his time at St. Peter's High School. Swoop went on to play at Southern Connecticut State University, where he was a part of the 1997 New England Conference Championship team. He then went on to star on teams such as the Harlem Rockets, the Harlem Globetrotters, and the Harlem Wizards. Traveling to over 35 countries, spreading joy and laughter, Swoop has been able to make people happy through his love of basketball, which has been a dream come true.
