When Love Burns: The Refiner's Fire

A church built on secrets. Two wounded hearts. One truth powerful enough to burn everything down, or refine it into something holy.

Jalen Carter has spent his life guarding his family’s legacy and the reputation of the church that raised him. But when whispers of misconduct resurface and a tragedy within the youth ministry exposes long-buried secrets, Jalen finds himself caught between inherited loyalty and a truth that could shatter everything he has ever believed.

Ariel Thomas is no stranger to scandal.

Determined to clear her deceased cousin’s name while rebuilding her own life after a painful public fall, Ariel arrives expecting resistance. She expects judgment. She expects chaos.

What she doesn’t expect…is Jalen.

Steady. Guarded. Genuine.

As their connection deepens, old flames resurface, hidden sins come to light, and the cost of truth grows heavier. Together, Jalen and Ariel must decide whether love is strong enough to survive betrayal, grief, and the fire of public exposure.

Because sometimes love doesn’t simply comfort.

Sometimes love burns.
