When Marx Meets Islam: Navigating Radical Ideologies in Defense of the West

The most dangerous political alliance of the twenty-first century is not one of nations, but one of ideologies—Marxism and Islamism. In When Marx Meets Islam, sociologist Craig Considine delivers an urgent and unsparing critique that exposes this toxic new convergence, which is fueled by shared antipathy toward Enlightenment values and animosity toward the United States, Israel, and other democratic countries. He lays out the motivations and intellectual scaffolding of the Leftist-Islamist alliance and meticulously dissects its operational tactics across a variety of fronts, from college campuses to international organizations. Drawing on his own experience as a well-known advocate for civic values and interfaith dialogue, he has witnessed firsthand the rising tide of these mutually reinforcing revolutionary forces and even been the subject of their public attacks and silencing campaigns. This landmark book provides an accessible yet in-depth understanding of this growing challenge and offers a guide for protecting the West against the most significant ideological threat of our time.
