About this title

Synopsis

When Mommies Go to Work features six moms working cool jobs and raising cool kids. The story shows girls they can follow their passions--whether that's flying or farming, teaching or serving--and raise families too. This rhyming picture book is geared for children up to about 6 years old. It is written with girls and moms as central characters, but kids of any gender identity can draw inspiration from the story. The beautiful watercolor illustrations feature characters representing a diversity of races, abilities, and family structures.

About the Authors

Sarah Anderson works with nonprofit organizations by day and enjoys gardening, writing, making music, and doing yoga. She started writing children's books for her nieces Genevieve and Delaney. She lives in Seattle with her family.

Alex Langenstein spends most of their time as an astronautical and mechanical engineering student in Seattle, but makes time to hike, garden, knit, build rockets, and bring stories to life through illustration and animation.
