When The Moon Takes The Hit: How a Lunar Impact Could Change Earth Forever.
In 2032, humanity may witness something no living person has ever seen — a city-killer asteroid striking our moon. It will not destroy Earth. It will not cause chaos in the skies. But it will change everything we thought we understood about our place in space.
When The Moon Takes The Hit is a gripping, cinematic, and deeply researched journey into one of the most astonishing scientific possibilities of our time. Based on real discoveries, NASA data, and cutting-edge planetary defense research, this book explores what could happen if asteroid 2024 YR4, once feared to be on a collision course with Earth, slams into the lunar surface instead.
Inside these pages, readers will witness:
The Discovery — how a faint speck of light in a Chilean telescope became the most dangerous space rock ever recorded.
The Narrow Escape — the breathtaking recalculations that ruled out an Earth impact… only to reveal a new threat to the moon.
The Impact Event — a blow bright enough to be seen from Earth, releasing millions of kilograms of lunar dust and carving a crater nearly a kilometer wide.
The Night the Sky Changes — how sand-grain-sized lunar fragments could scatter across space and fall toward Earth as a once-in-a-lifetime meteor storm.
The Invisible Danger — how tiny pieces of flying moon dust, traveling faster than bullets, could cripple satellites, disrupt global communications, and endanger astronauts and lunar bases.
The Future of Planetary Defense — from NASA’s DART mission to next-generation telescopes, discover the new frontier: protecting not just Earth, but also the moon and our expanding presence in space.
Readers will be transported to mission control rooms, observatories, and scientific debates happening right now — as experts race to prepare for an event that could rewrite history, space exploration, and our fragile technological world.
With a pulse-pounding narrative style and rich scientific storytelling, this book brings to life the stakes, the science, and the breathtaking wonder of a cosmic event seen only once every 5,000 years.
If you enjoy science thrillers, real-life cosmic mysteries, space disasters, or books like Asteroid Hunters, The Coming Storm, or The End of Everything, this is your next unforgettable read.
Will the moon take the hit — and what happens to Earth when it does?
Turn the page and discover the shocking, awe-inspiring truth.
Perfect for space lovers, science readers, educators, and anyone fascinated by the future of humanity beyond Earth.

Store description
We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
