When Pluto Helped a Friend

Meet Pluto, a fluffy, curly Cavapoo with soft brown eyes and the biggest heart you've ever seen.

One sunny morning, Pluto discovers a little girl named Allie sitting alone under a big tree, crying because her balloon flew away. Pluto doesn't bark. He doesn't jump. He simply walks over quietly and sits beside her - because sometimes the kindest thing you can do is just show up.

When Pluto Helped a Friend is a gentle, heartwarming story about empathy, emotional awareness, and the special bond between children and animals. Through Pluto's simple act of kindness, young readers learn that you don't need words to make someone feel less alone.

Perfect for toddlers and early readers ages 2-6, bedtime reading and classroom read-alouds, social-emotional learning at home or in school, and animal lovers and future pet owners everywhere.

Based on a real dog. Pluto is a real Cavapoo born on September 22, 2020 - a COVID baby who arrived when the world went quiet and filled it back up with love. This book is inspired by his very real, very wonderful instinct for knowing exactly when I need him most.

Pluto's Adventures is an ongoing series exploring kindness, courage, empathy, and compassion - one waggy tail at a time.

Rosy Dabas is an Indian-born, Boston-based debut author-illustrator, PhD scientist, and a very proud mom of Pluto - a Cavapoo whose quiet, wordless instinct for showing up exactly when someone needs him most inspired every book in this series.Their bond is difficult to explain. When Rosy is low, Pluto appears without being asked - head on her lap, body pressed against hers. She genuinely believes their souls are connected. And it is that connection that sits at the heart of every Pluto's Adventures story.A lifelong artist who grew up drawing and painting, Rosy drew every illustration in this series entierly by hand - becasue a quite inner voice told her that was the only way it would feel real. The Pluto's Adventures series gently teaches young children that sometimes the kindest thing you can do is simply stay close. Each book explores a new emotional theme through Pluto's eyes, and includes original hand-drawn sketch pages so little ones can color Pluto's world in their own way - a quiet, creative activity for children and grown-ups to share together.
