When the Quiet Comes

When the Quiet Comes is a dark fantasy horror novel about a town that learned how to survive by forgetting - and the woman who breaks it.

When Maribel Knox returns to her childhood town of Ridgefall, she expects old ghosts: memories, grief, the weight of the past. What she finds instead is something worse.

The town is... calm.

Too calm.

People go about their lives without anger, without grief, without fear. No one argues. No one mourns. No one remembers the things that hurt them - or the people they've lost. It's as if the town itself is smoothing away anything sharp, anything painful, anything human.

As Maribel begins to ask questions, reality starts to bend. Time slips. Memories don't line up. People vanish quietly, leaving behind only empty spaces where they used to be. And beneath it all, something is feeding - not on bodies, but on contradictions, on unresolved grief, on the weight of things that cannot be reconciled.

To stop it, Maribel must do the unthinkable: let herself be taken apart by the very force erasing the town... and remain conscious as it happens.

When the Quiet Comes is a story of cosmic horror, emotional sacrifice, and the terrifying cost of a world without pain - or love.

It asks a single question:

What would you give up to keep the world from breaking?

And what happens when the thing you give up is yourself?
