About the Author

Eugene Oscar grew up in rural Montana. He started raising birds at the age of twelve, when his next door neighbor gave him a pair of Java Rice birds. Over the years, he has raised parakeets, cockatiels, finches, conures, cockatoos, mynah birds, and amazon parrots. He became interested in writing at an early age. As a teenager, he often wrote short stories and poetry about the people around him. He majored in English at Eastern Montana College and taught high school in rural Montana and North Dakota for several years. He currently lives and writes in Taylor, Texas, with his wife, Dolores.
