When We Read (Hardback or Cased Book)

A book for dancing while you read. In this picture book, young readers are encouraged to dance while they read. They might wiggle their body like a worm - or even make a letter as they squirm.

The combination of dance and reading engages young readers minds and bodies in new and formative ways. We know that literacy is essential to children's development and future success, stimulating homes and other reading engagement environments are crucial. This book can be used in classrooms, dance studios, and homes as a way to get all kids moving and instill excitement for reading.

This book was written and published in partnership with the national non-profit Ballet and Books which strives to reduce the literacy gap through the hybrid storytelling of dance and reading. When we build community through dance and literacy, we find common ground and a space to share in our connectivity.
