Mine is a story of trust, inspiration, and hope for all women. I wrote the story while going through a terrible tragedy in my life. A domestic abuse situation. Writers often find themselves inspired most by a personal experience. As you read this, you will see that my deepest feelings seem to have poured out on the pages with such clarity, that the reader (YOU) believes you are right there watching the whole thing unravel. I challenge you to “See for yourself”. It's a great fantasy story that bursts forward with excitement, funny and thrilling adventures, and it has a pleasant conclusion, as two lonely people begin to open their hearts. First she must learn to trust her puppy (who already plays with mysterious shadow's everyday in their home). Then she must learn to trust a stranger all over again. And then, there's the shadows. Can TRUST find it's way back to her heart after domestic abuse?
Roxanna was born in Oshkosh and raised in Appleton, Wisconsin. She was the second born and has four brothers. She married her high school sweetheart and bore three children. Their third child (the only daughter) died five months later from SIDS. Traumatized, she wrote her first poem, Tomorrows Are Forever, published in 1979 by The Compassionate Friends Inc., Shawano Wisconsin Chapter. Fighting divorce, it eventually brought on the loss of everything. Believing that love and life had let her down, solitude engulfed her for many years as she struggled through unsuccessful relationships. She gave up and relocated to Nevada (where her parents still live). Remarried, she fled from her second husband, a domestic abuser who offered her paradise in Hawaii and then cunningly took it all back. She was forced to leave her antiques, her family heirlooms, and her beloved dog behind. Traumatized a second time. Counselors told her time ran out in their domestic-abuse shelter, so they shuffled her off to endure drug and alcoholic classes under strict regulations in the communities' homeless shelter so she could remain off the streets. Neither of which had anything to do with her situation. All of which drove Roxanna into a deeper state of depression. Overly distraught, she gave up again, relocated back to Nevada, and picked up her pen. Her second article was published in 2003 by Henderson Home News Viewpoint. Her English teacher once told her that her flair in writing could delight the world. So that's just what she intends to do now. With help from her family and friends, she continues to be a survivor, and hopefully, one of your best-read authors.
