When Strategy meets Sambar: Inside the Octopus Operating Model

"Strategy is what you plan.
Transformation is what you live."

Dorai Sammy doesn't realise he is the case study.
For twenty years, he has diagnosed broken operating models across the Gulf, fixing other people's chaos while his own life runs on deferred maintenance.

When a late-night chest pain and a quiet question from Sheikh Mansour collide, Sammy is forced to examine the one system he has never truly audited: his own body, his family, and the operating model of Al Rayaan Holding.

Enter Sensei Taka - a mentor who prefers questions to slides, stories to frameworks, and sambar to strategy decks. Together they travel from boardrooms in Abu Dhabi to 4 a.m. camps, from family majlis conversations to AI-enabled operating models.

What begins with a bowl of sambar becomes a reckoning with promise, delivery, and trust - in business, in leadership, and at the kitchen table.

When Strategy Meets Sambar is a novel for every leader who knows that transformation is only real when the story on the slide finally matches the life on the ground.
