When the Trust Is Broken

This is the story--a grandmother’s story--of the experiences and events that have shaped her life, including the sexual abuse of her four-year-old granddaughter in a daycare center. In these pages, the author will share her trials and tribulations and provide insight into overcoming life’s adversities, as well as what to do when the unthinkable comes out of nowhere.
It is a personal, powerful, and agonizing story including a devastating fire, a flood, serious car accident, two failed marriages, a horrific family death, and the despicable acts of sexual abuse on her granddaughter, and the emotional impact it had on her family as well as the strength and forgiveness it took to overcome these challenges.
Child sexual abuse is a violation of trust that can happen anywhere, anytime. Sex offenders do not pick and choose. Every child id a potential victim. "When the Trust is Broken" will not only educate the public but assist in recognizing some of the warning signs. Included are many success stories and many resources available to share. Everyone should have the tools and the power to protect their family.
"When the Trust is Broken"  will take you through the day of sentencing and the prosecution of the perpetrator. "Children need to know it was never their fault but the fault of the sex offender". The convicted sex offender in this case is now serving 21 years.

Sharon Grace is a wife, mother, and grandmother, living in Upstate, New York with her husband John, who has come to realize that the important things in life are the people who surround you everyday. Together Sharon has five grown children, spouses and six grandchildren. Her life was finally picture perfect...until she was forced to face the greatest tragedy of her life when a significant life experience changed her forever.
Sharon's 4-year-old granddaughter had been sexually abused at her day care center. Not only did it cause almost unbearable pain, it was a devastating blow to the trust we place in people--something we take for granted every single day.
Sharon's anger and outrage inspired her to share her experiences and events through writing and public speaking. Her intention is to create a greater awareness of the problem and its warning signs, as well as offering a blueprint for hope and healing for victims and their families overcoming life’s challenges, "When the Trust is Broken."
Sharon has turned the tragic event into a life lesson, an opportunity to grow and is now a very strong "advocate" for sexually abused children. Sharon has been in the cosmetology industry, salon owner, hairstylist, teacher, and national educator, with a purpose of sharing her story, educating the public and providing insight on keeping your children safe and to offer hope to those victims and their families who have been impacted or may be impacted by child sexual abuse.
