Everyone knows that the elementals can't leave their element. Mermaids stay in the water, fire salamanders in the hearth, and the sylphs keep to the air. The few remaining earth elementals that haven't been turned to stones or trees keep to the forest and hide from humans. For nearly a century, elemental sights have been scarce on most of the Continent. The only place on the Continent where elementals are commonplace is the country of Laulao.

Laulao has long been a safe haven for the elementals, and the royal twins Felicity and Edward have kept that tradition alive. It helps, of course, that Felicity has a touch of water magic and Edward a touch of air magic. Together they have ruled Laulao peacefully ever since their uncle, the most powerful fire mage on the Continent, disappeared without a trace ten years ago. But when Prince James, a friend to Edward and student of their uncle, comes to Laulao, a prophecy is set in motion that changes everything. Even though fire and water mages do not work together, James and Felicity find themselves irresistibly drawn to each other. About the Author

Ruth Sanger is a native of Delaware, the state not the county. Writing has always been a passion project of hers in between teaching music and performing in community theater. Living in China for four years gave her a unique perspective on life and she tries to express that in her writing style. You can usually find her singing a song and a book in hand!
