About the Author

About the illustrator:

Cristina Acosta has received national acclaim for her work in the fine arts. She has a degree in painting from the University of Oregon and worked for five years as a college art instructor. Recently, she has worked as a studio artist, producing paintings and a line of ceramic tiles. Cristina's bright, magical style conveys a sense of joyous energy and movement. She is deeply influenced by her own Hispanic heritage and the bright color and vivid patters of California-Mexican craft. She lives in Bend, Oregon, with her husband and daughter.
