Synopsis
Where is Adam, understanding a father's role, is an inspirational book, which provides a very personal and authentic view into the role of men within a variety of different context. The book, along with the interactive workbook, gives readers the opportunity to look deeper into themselves and ignites a journey of self-discovery. We were fortunate to hire Mr. Wheeler to teach our pre-college program at the University of Michigan-Flint; using "where is Adam? as the primary text. I personally witnessed the dispositions of the young men change over the course. They became open to supporting one another, and dedicated to becoming the gentlemen they were destined to be. One hundred percent (100%) of the students who completed The Course featuring the book "Where is Adam, understanding a father's role" indicated that it was a very helpful experience.
About the Author
Jeff Wheeler is a man who lives what he writes. He has committed his life to mentoring young people, in particular, young men. Besides being a husband to Yvonna Wheeler, father-to his three children, he is the father to a fourth young man who is not biologically his, but is, indeed a member of his family. He is a respected member of the Flint, MI community. He is also a motivational speaker, licensed, and ordained minister, retired police officer, owner of one of the largest martial arts schools in Genesee County (Double Dragon Tang Soo Do), and the most senior black belt in his Region. Jeff does not just talk or write about what is needed to counter the negative effects of not having a father in the home; every day he implements strategies to give children, and parents life skills, and emotional support. His motto is a quote from Fredrick Douglas that says, It's easier to build strong children, than to repair broken men.
