Where the Sun Doesn’t Reach (The Taenara Project)

The last plane. The last sunset. Then only darkness, ten people, and a space too small to remain strangers for long.

Lara Comelli is an engineer used to trusting her own judgment. When a technical assignment takes her from Turin to Taenara, a remote Antarctic research station, she thinks she knows what she’s signing up for: extreme cold, isolation, and months cut off from everything she knows.

She hadn’t planned on Elvis.

The base commander is composed, competent, and almost impossible to read. He doesn’t need to raise his voice to be obeyed, and Lara quickly realizes that Taenara has rules no one bothered to explain—and questions no one seems willing to answer.

The deeper she gets into the project, the less the data adds up.

And the harder it becomes to ignore the man standing beside her.

As the polar night closes in and the last connection to the outside world disappears, forced proximity turns suspicion into trust, and attraction into something neither of them can dismiss.

But the job Lara came to Antarctica to do is beginning to look like only part of the story.

Beneath the ice, something still defies every explanation.
