Where Wildflowers Grew (Paperback or Softback)

"Be careful, for you know whatever you whisper now . . . will last in my heart always," whispered Pauline.

In the small town of Gainesville, Georgia, fifteen-year-old Pauline Patterson spends her days working at McClellan's lunch counter, dreaming of a life of singing and moving up in the world.

When an opportunity to sing live at the local radio station arises, Pauline's dreams feel closer than ever. With the announcement that World War II has started, she hopes to lift people's spirits and her own.

Sparks fly when the mysterious William, who has become a regular customer of hers, shows up at the station to wish her luck . . . But is everything as it seems? And is a recurring dream a warning of danger ahead?

Based on a true story, Where Wildflowers Grew will take you on a journey of love, determination, and hope for the future.

Anita Paulette Reed-Froelich married early, like her mother, Pauline, the protagonist in her book "Where Wildflowers Grew." Her four loving children blessed her with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who continually inspire her. After an eleven-year tenure as a police officer and investigator, she pursued writing and developing her artistic talents, opened a flower and craft shop, and took a writing course to write children's stories. She eventually self-published "Zaine and the Cradle for the King." Next, she focused on writing "Where Wildflowers Grew," her riveting story about how her parents met, and her fifty-two-year quest to find her father. Her story is written with love and compassion.
