Whispers in Tehran: From Ruthless Enforcer of Islam to Compassionate Follower of Christ (Muslim Conversion Testimony Book #1)

He dedicated his life to defending Islam. A Bible found during a bookshop raid set him on a path towards Jesus, but the penalty for apostasy in Iran is death. What should he do?

Rashid Safavi had nearly everything an Iranian man could dream of: a prestigious position in the Islamic Guard, unwavering respect from his peers, and a profound love for his beautiful wife. He was convinced beyond doubt that Islam was the one true path. Yet, the harsh punishments he was compelled to impose on those who strayed from strict Islamic doctrines always left him uneasy. Could this really be the right way?

One day, during a routine raid on a bookshop, Rashid stumbled upon a hidden Bible. His duty was clear: destroy the book and report the shop owner for severe punishment. But something about the forbidden text drew him in. He chose to secretly take the Bible home and hide it in his study.

What ensued were nights filled with clandestine reading, fervent studying, and relentless comparisons between the Bible and the Quran. Rashid discovered teachings that astounded him: “love your neighbor,” “turn the other cheek,” and the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus. These principles were starkly different from his previous beliefs. Here was the God he had always longed to serve. Here was the truth he had never found in the Quran.

However, accepting this new faith meant sacrificing everything: his position, his respect, and potentially his life. How could he reconcile his role as an enforcer of Islamic law with his newfound faith in Christ? How much longer could he maintain the facade before someone discovered his secret?

"Whispers in Tehran" is a compelling testimony of a man finding God in one of the most unexpected places: the capital of Iran, a nation known for its stringent adherence to Islam. Filled with raw emotion, his story journeys from a small Iranian village through the beautiful gardens of Shiraz, the rigorous training camps in remote mountains, and the bustling streets of Tehran to a pivotal moment of reckoning, where a life-or-death decision must be made. It is more than just a story of faith; it is a gripping narrative of courage and relentless quest for truth as Rashid’s journey takes him from covert Bible studies to underground Christian fellowships, and ultimately to a dramatic escape plan.
