About this Item
I quote from the flap of the dust jacket of this book written at the early years of World War II: Alice Duer Miller….has written in The White Cliffs a long poem which expresses completely and beautifully what many Americans feel about England in this dark hour. You will have seen this book before as it is fairly common but not in this condition. This small-sized hard cover book (5 ½ x 7 ¾ inches 70 pages) was published by Coward-McCann of New York dated February 7, 1941, and the Fourteenth Impression. The book is bound in dark blue boards with embossed titles on the cover and white titles on the spine and protected by a printed paper dust jacket. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The dust jacket is handsome and very presentable with a chip out of the rear cover and the scar of a carelessly removed piece of tape? The hard covers are clean and bright and unbumped; the white titles on the spine bold. Inside a former owner has left her inked name on the front endpaper and both endpapers show some staining from the acids of the binding glues. The interior pages are clean and bright throughout. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder. Seller Inventory # 91
