Item description from seller

William Wordsworth's brilliant long narrative poem on the Rising of the North. The White Doe of Rylstone is a long narrative poem set during the Rising of the North in 1569, combining historical and legendary subject matter.Though this has never been one of Wordsworth's most popular poems, 'The White Doe' has always been highly praised critically, with Wordsworth considering it to be one of his finest works.Illustrated with a vignette title and in-text engravings throughout by Birket Foster and Noel Humphreys. In the original publisher"s cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, with some light marks and rubbing to the cloth. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Front hinge is strained. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with scattered spots. Good.
