Whitfield's Electrical Craft Principles, 6th edition is the second of a two-volume work that covers the electrical principles syllabi for all major awarding bodies such as BTEC, and City and Guilds. The book is fully illustrated throughout with line diagrams, photographs and drawings. Worked examples are included to aid understanding of the theories and principles presented in its pages. Each chapter concludes with a summary of formulae, a set of written exercises and a multiple-choice test, which makes the book ideal for both classroom and private study.

The book will also be useful for practicing electrical installers, engineers and technicians who wish to deepen their knowledge and prepare themselves for the demands of a rapidly developing industry.

About the Authors

Terry Grimwood MA, PGCE, is the co-author of numerous electrical and engineering textbooks as well as five novels and many novellas, plays and short stories. His industry experience ranges from electrical installation through to project management, quality assurance and technical writing. He taught electrical installation and technology for twenty years at both Otley College (Suffolk) and Oaklands College, St Albans (Hertfordshire), before becoming a full-time writer.

John Whitfield spent 30 years as a lecturer at Norwich City College of Further and Higher Education, where he gained very wide experience in teaching electrical installation, electrical craft practice, electrical technician's courses and the Ordinary and Higher National Certificate and Diploma courses. His insight into the needs of students in technical education and his wide experience of teaching methods enabled him to base the earlier editions of this book on well-proven techniques. John continued to work on his books and technical papers until his death in 2019 at the age of 89 years.
