Whole Thought: The Rise of Human Intelligence

In tracing the arc of human progress, one discerns an underlying pattern steering the course of our intellectual evolution—a gradual but persistent gravitation towards what is now identified as Whole Thought. This paradigm does not represent a mere milestone, but rather signifies a shift, a transformation in the fabric of cognition brought into relief by the cumulative ascent of human intelligence. At its core, Whole Thought advocates for the harmonious integration of multiple dimensions of intelligence--analytical, emotional, social, creative, and practical. However, it transcends traditional cognitive boundaries, encapsulating the nuanced interplay between the tangible and the transcendental aspects of human experience. This model acknowledges that our best thinking cannot be siloed into strictly logical or emotional responses but must reflect our complete being.
The foundational pillars of Whole Thought are built upon four interrelated components: Praximorphic Cognition (translating patterns into concepts into action), Temporal Integration (connecting the past, present, future), Holistic Development (balancing the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual), and Epistemic Harmonics (simultaneously engaging explicit and tacit knowledge, the unconscious and conscious).
Whole Thought is both a mindset and a call to action. It is a bid to honor the full spectrum of human capacity and to recognize that our individual development is inextricably linked to the collective good. It asserts that the quality of our thought drives the quality of our actions, and by extension, the quality of the impact we have on the world. It is guided by 12 Whole Thought Principles, foundational in ensuring the WT philosophy translates into tangible personal and collective growth, and catalyzed by a set of Knowledge Capacities, mental and emotional building blocks for engaging with the world. There are two KC books available: Knowledge Capacities I: Igniting Whole Thought, and Knowledge Capacities II: Cultivating Infinite Learning. In support of this body of work, a book entitled Infinite Learning: Your Life, Your Choice is also available in October 2024.
