In David Rosenfield's book, Why Americans Have it All Wrong: An Alternative Way to Find Happiness, David explores several unique characteristics about Americans and their traditions that differentiate them from the rest of the world in ways that often financially handicap them, forcing them to live a life of work rather than personal satisfaction. This book follows David's life from his inner city Chicago upbringing to working in New York City to throwing out all social norms and moving to Thailand for a few years with his American ex-wife where he learned to enjoy life like most other developed countries have enjoyed for centuries. Originally from Chicago and an avid Bears fan, David Rosenfield is an accomplished commercial litigator who spent twenty years working for several AmLaw 100 law firms.  Earlier in his career, he discovered sitting in an office chair was not the life he envisioned for himself and made a plan to travel the world and move to Thailand with his American wife where they spent four years teaching English (and law for David) at a prestigious private university in Bangkok. After a lot of saving and hard work, David has traveled extensively throughout the world and visited 70 countries spanning six continents and 47 states in the U.S.A.  Back in the U.S, David transitioned from law to real estate investor and owns several properties that generate income for his current and future travels. His current target is to travel to 100 countries before the age of 50 and to retire in his favorite country, Thailand.
