Why You Can't Change Their Mind: A Book For The Ones You Can’t Reason With

What if it was never about winning the argument?

We live in an age of conviction—loud, passionate, immovable conviction. Families are breaking. Friendships are fracturing. And the more we double down on being right, the more we seem to lose each other. But what if belief isn’t just about logic? What if it’s about identity, belonging, fear, and love What if the mind only changes after the heart has been seen?

In Why You Can’t Change Their Mind, writer and spiritual provocateur, Dr. Heath Hollensbe, takes us on a raw and revelatory journey beneath the surface of belief—into the hidden roots of conviction, the stories we tell ourselves, and the psychological, cultural, and spiritual forces that shape what we call “truth.”

Drawing from theology, neuroscience, ancient wisdom, and real-life stories, this book gently exposes why facts don’t persuade, why certainty is addictive, why disagreement feels like danger—and how staying present might just be the most radical act of all. This isn’t a book about arguing better. It’s a book about becoming—kinder, humbler, more curious, and more human.
