About the Author

Susan M. Sheridan, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Educational Psychology (School Psychology at the University of Utah. This book has grown out of the many social skills classes Sheridan conducts with parents and children, and her extensive research in social skills intervention and generalization, home-school partnerships, and parent involvement. In addition to authoring The Tough Kid Social Skills Book and numerous articles and book chapters on social skills training, Sheridan conducts social skills classes nationally for parents, educators, and others working with children and adolescents. In 1996 Sheridan was named Utah School Psychologist of the Year and in 1993 was honored with the prestigious Lightner Witmer Award for early career accomplishments from Division 16 (School Psychology) of the American Psychological Association.
