About the Author
Rafaele Joudry was educated in England and Canada where she completed a Bachelor of Social Work before emigrating to Australia. After learning of Sound Therapy and the work of the brilliant French ear specialist, Dr Tomatis, while working in France, Rafaele helped her mother to pioneer the ground breaking technology of Sound Therapy. They were assisted in this endeavour by the Benedictine Monks at St Peters Abbey in Saskatchewan and Rafaele has since brought the program to thousands of families around the world. Now a leading Australian speaker and author, Rafaele lectures constantly both nationally and internationally, holds training courses for professionals and is currently conducting research into the effect of sound upon the ear. She is committed to finding and providing solutions for natural hearing improvement and better brain performance. A strong interest in learning and child development fuelled her work in preschool education and family services and she has dedicated several years to research and public education on the subject of child development and environmental health. Since the release of her first two books: Sound Therapy: Music to Recharge your Brain (1999) and Triumph Over Tinnitus (2001) her speaking engagements to self helps groups and conferences have numbered well over 500, including a successful tour of the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Dozens of radio interviews have been broadcast throughout Australia, generating an unprecedented number of enquires from the general public and professionals alike. A collaboration between the Joudrys and Ostrander and Schroeder, authors of three best selling Superlearning books, took Rafaele to New York and the start of some interesting work linking Sound Therapy with accelerated learning methods originated by Bulgarian Dr Lozanov. Her latest book, Why Aren’t I Learning? (2004) focusing on easy, practical, non invasive treatments, responds to a growing need from families to address an array of learning and developmental disorders. Rafaele has created a new compilation of cutting edge resources which can help restore children’s learning abilities by enhancing sensory integration. Rafaele also co-ordinates a team of clinically based researchers to further advance knowledge of how Sound Therapy benefits brain function and learning.
