About this Item
A smart copy of this very scarce illustrated children's story written in verse. Very scarce. Illustrated throughout with colour scenes. A charming children's tale, told in verse, following a young man who borrows the horse of his neighbour to visit the Widdecombe Fair with his friends. Written by Sabine Baring-Gould, an Anglican priest, hagiographer, antiquarian, novelist, folk song collector and eclectic scholar. In the original pictorial paper binding. Externally, smart with light wear to the extremities and the odd small mark to the boards. Small closed tears to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd spot or handling mark. Very Good. Seller Inventory # 919T2
