Widdifield’s New Cook Book; or, Practical Receipts for the Housewife. By Hannah Widdifield and printed in Philadelphia b T.B. Peterson and Brothers. C. 1856, 410 pp, 7.5 x 5.25”, 8vo, hardcover cloth rebind. In good rebound condition, with minor rubbing and wear to boards and spine. Hinges are tight and text block is bound well. Light marginalia and inscriptions. Staining to pages towards the back of text block. General age-related toning to pages, along with frequent foxing and wear. Includes a small section of advertisements at the back of the book. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce mid-19th Century cookbook, rebound and preserved well. Includes two advertisement illustrations, one of which is for Life in the South, a companion book to Uncle Tom’s Cabin. COLM1856ADFM-0523-aj0092.
