Album measuring 20 x 14 cm with panelled and decoratively inlaid (cedar?) veneer boards, leather gilt-decorated spine. 35 leaves, each with a fine mounted arrangement of different flowers, foliage and moss, many of them incorporating veneer crucifixes. Each leaf has a hand-written title, usually the name of a place of biblical significance: Bethlehem, Mount of Olives, Gethsemane, etc. Interleaved with loose tissue sheets. Probably originally sold at the Boulos Meo souvenir shop near the Jaffa Gate in Jerusalem. Often, books with this title comprise colour plates with maybe a few actual pressed flowers.Some rubbing to spine. Internally fine. Seller Inventory # HOLYLAND002032
