Sweet Pea and Cookie are two speckled hens who live on a farm, but they are not your ordinary chickens. After Sweet Pea sees the farmer's wife's dress, she decides to sell Cookie's eggs and take the farmer's car to go shopping at the mall. Chaos ensues as the two hens meet the real world, and learn a valuable lesson in the end. This story was inspired by the real Sweet Pea and Cookie who were the pets of the author and illustrator. Memories of the two sweet hens still bring them joy and laughter, as they hope this story will for you.
